Registration for First-Semester Students
On this website you will find important information about the registration for first-semester students.
Important information
Registration, also called "Registration for the Bachelor's Examination" or "Registration for the Master's Examination", is another important, one-time formal step after enrolment, which serves to ensure that all first-semester students register with the Examination Office and that an examination file is then created. In addition, following this registration, the study account is activated for electronic Examination Registration. Please note: You will not be able to register for examinations without this formal registration!
You can find the forms in our download area here1.
Registration: How do I sign up?
01.
Fill out the form
Download the registration form for the Bachelor’s or Master’s Examination in the download area1. Complete and sign it.
02.
Prepare documents
Please produce a certified copy of your university entrance qualification (for Bachelor registration) or your Bachelor’s degree documents (for Master registration, not necessary for Bonn Bachelor graduates).
03.
Submit registration
Please send the documents for the winter semester by 29.11.2024 (BA)/ 13.12.2024 (MA) at the latest by letter post to the following address: :
Universität Bonn
Philosophische Fakultät
Bachelor-/Master-Prüfungsausschuss
Am Hof 1
53113 Bonn
IMPORTANT: We advise you to send in the complete documents as soon as you have them. A separate cover letter is not necessary.
Documents sent by email or via the contact form cannot be considered, as a certified copy of the university entrance qualification must be available in paper form. You can have certifications made free of charge at the ASTA of the University of Bonn2 and at the respective city administration3 of your place of residence (in Bonn: by making an appointment at the Service Centre through the Citizens' Registration Office). Alternatively, you can also bring the original by the Prüfungsamt; please observe our office hours to do so.
Please also note that there is no confirmation of successful registration and this is also not visible in the Transcript of Records. However, if you are able to register your exams successfully, you will know that everything has worked out.
Specifics for students changing subjects
Students changing subjects in the Bachelor's program must also submit an application for admission to the examination procedure for their new subject. It is not necessary to resubmit the university entrance qualification or Bachelor's degree documents.
