Information for Non-Faculty Students

Under certain conditions, non-faculty students have the opportunity to enroll in Faculty of Arts modules.

Non-faculty students, often within the framework of the elective component of their degree program, have the opportunity to take specific modules at the Faculty of Arts, provided that there is an agreement between the faculties. In the absence of such an agreement, there is no right to participate in classes and exams.

How many spots are available?

For some modules, the number of spots for non-faculty students is not limited. In these cases, you can register for classes and exams via BASIS independently within our registration and exam registration periods.

In a few modules, spots are limited. In these cases, you cannot register independently via BASIS; see further below for more information regarding the enrollment. If more students apply than there are available spots, higher semester students will be given priority. The agreements between the faculties do not inherently grant the right to participate in the modules.

What faculties and institutes currently have agreements?

How is registration for modules and respective exam performances done?

If registration through BASIS is not possible due to limited spots, registration for the desired classes within a module as well as for the subsequent module examination is conducted through the Faculty of Arts’ Examination Office during the respective registration periods in each semester.

Please note that these deadlines may differ from those applicable in your own degree program.

Additionally, please be aware that at the Faculty of Arts, classes must be actively enrolled in to fulfill their academic requirements and later register for the examination (see our Dates and Deadlines page). After the registration deadline, registration is no longer possible. Below, you have the opportunity to register for the desired classes or the exam. It is important to note that registration for the exam can only be carried out if you have completed the required academic achievements. Please use the registration form (see below) that corresponds to your request.
