Equal opportunities measures and offers at the Faculty of Arts
At the University of Bonn, there are a variety of funding opportunities, measures and programs with the aim of improving the structural conditions for equality and equal opportunities and supporting women* on their career path, increasing their career advancement opportunities and motivating them to further qualify for management positions (more information below).
In addition to the university's central offers, the Faculty of Arts is launching its own program in 2025, based on the interim evaluation of the Faculty's gender equality plans and those of the individual departments.

Workshop and networking program
The series offers lectures, workshops and networking events aimed in particular at women*, female* students, young female* academics at the Faculty of Art. It aims to raise awareness of issues relating to equality, gender equality and compatibility.

ELVIRA - Mentoring program for female students
The program is aimed at female students with a non-academic family background, i.e. women who are the first in their family to study, perhaps also aiming for a doctorate. It offers collegial exchange and support from mentors who are also first-time female academics and can help with further professional and career planning.

Annette Kuhn Prize for gender- and diversity-sensitive teaching
Award for teaching staff at the Faculty of Arts who are, for instance, committed to the communication and integration of findings from gender, queer, and diversity studies, the discussion of feminist positions, or the visualization of the history and scientific achievements of women.
Initiatives and projects at departments and institutions of the Faculty
- The female historians network4: The members of the network (female* students and doctoral candidates) should be able to exchange ideas in a safe space. Students, postdocs, and professors are cordially invited to support the network as associate members.

Central equality measures and programs (selection)
MeTra program for young female scientists
The interdisciplinary mentoring and training program MeTra offers female early career researchers from all departments support and guidance in the form of workshops, networking and individual mentors.
Maria von Linden training program for women
The cross-faculty Maria von Linden training program enables young female academics to participate in career-related workshops to develop their skills as well as plan their future careers.
STEP Program - Strengthening the Equal Opportunity Process
The university-wide STEP program is designed to recruit young female academics and professors and to promote female academics at all career levels through specific offers.
WHATS-UB (Women in Higher Education and TOP SCIENCE) Uni Bonn
WHATS-UB (Women in Higher Education And Top Science - University of Bonn) is the network for female academics at the University of Bonn who are pursuing or have already pursued an academic career.

Lise Meitner Excellence Program
The Max Planck Society's interdisciplinary Lise Meitner Excellence Program is designed to recruit and promote exceptionally qualified female researchers from all disciplines. Every researcher selected as part of the Lise Meitner Excellence Program is offered the opportunity to take part in a tenure track process that, following a positive vote by the Tenure Committee, leads to a permanent W2 position with group funding.
Contact Point Women into EU Research (FiF)
The contact point is a central advisory point in Germany for gender and equal opportunities in Horizon Europe.
Center of Excellence Women in Science (CEWS)
The Center of Excellence Women in Science is the hub for achieving gender equality in science and research in Germany.
The Tool Box (INKA), database on equality practice
The CEWS toolbox provides information, ideas and inspiration for the design of equality goals or policies.
The Women's & Gender Research Network NRW
The network's Coordination and Research Office (KoFo) researches universities and academics from a gender perspective.
